abiraterone acetate) passes through breast milk. Zytiga is not approved for use in women. However, if you intentionally or accidentally take this medicine and are nursing a child, contact your healthcare provider.

No research has been done to see if Zytiga passes through breast milk. Although this lack of information is certainly frustrating, it is important to understand that studies of medications are rarely done in women who are nursing, as this would usually expose an infant, who will not directly benefit from the medication, to possible risks.
The manufacturer recommends that women should not take Zytiga while breastfeeding, as it may cause potential side effects in the nursing infant. Also, Zytiga is not approved for use in women; it is only approved for use in men with
prostate cancer.
Because Zytiga is only approved to treat prostate cancer in men, it is not intended for use in women. However, if a woman takes Zytiga while breastfeeding, she should consult with her healthcare provider.
