Zoladex and Bone Loss
If you use Zoladex® (goserelin acetate implant), it is important to understand that this medicine may increase your risk for osteoporosis. Because it can cause bone loss, Zoladex may not be suitable for people who have risk factors for osteoporosis, such as those who smoke, drink alcohol, or have a family history of the condition.
To help reduce your risk for these problems, your healthcare provider may have you take certain medicines, such as estrogen, alendronate, or risedronate, while undergoing treatment with Zoladex.
