Zoladex® (
goserelin acetate implant) is used as a treatment for advanced forms of breast and
prostate cancer, as well as certain gynecological conditions. Your healthcare provider will administer this implant during a minor surgical procedure in which an implant is inserted just under the skin of the abdomen (stomach).
Each implant will dissolve and continually release a fixed amount of medication over a 4-week or 12-week period, depending on which strength is used. The implant does not have to be removed, as it will fully dissolve within the body.
