Xtandi Drug Interactions Explained

Cyclosporine
The manufacturer of Xtandi recommends it not be taken in combination with cyclosporine. Taking these medications together can decrease blood levels of cyclosporine, potentially making it less effective. CYP 2C8 Inducer Medications
The liver breaks down Xtandi using enzymes known as CYP 2C8 enzymes, and medications known as CYP 2C8 inducers can increase the activity of these enzymes. Thus, combining Xtandi with one of these drugs may decrease the level of Xtandi in your body, potentially making it less effective. These medications should generally not be taken together.

Thus, combining Xtandi with one of these drugs may decrease the level of Xtandi in your body, making it less effective. These medications should not be taken together if at all possible. If they must be taken together, your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely.

Fentanyl

Medications That Increase the Risk for Seizures
Although rare, seizures have been reported in some people taking Xtandi. At this time, it is not known if Xtandi is safe for use with other medicines that increase the risk for seizures. Phenytoin

Pimozide
