If you have advanced prostate cancer, your healthcare provider may prescribe Vantas® (histrelin implant). This medicine comes in the form of an implant that is surgically placed just under the skin (subcutaneously) of the upper arm. It works to slow down the growth of prostate cancer cells by decreasing testosterone levels. Hot flushes, fatigue, and reactions at the implantation site are among the possible side effects of Vantas.
