histrelin implant) is a prescription hormone medication used in children to decrease the production of testosterone (in boys) and estrogen (in girls). It is approved to temporarily stop puberty that has started too early (also known as precocious puberty).
Supprelin LA comes in the form of an implant that is inserted just under the skin of the upper arm, and gradually releases medicine for 12 months. It is generally well tolerated, but side effects may include bruising, soreness, and swelling at the implantation site.
