Supprelin LA Drug Interactions

There are a variety of diabetes drugs that can cause interactions with Supprelin LA, including glitazones, insulin, and metformin. If you already have diabetes, your healthcare provider may have you check your blood sugar levels more frequently during treatment with this drug. Before starting treatment, tell your healthcare provider about any other medications that you are taking.

An Overview of Interactions With Supprelin LA

Supprelin® LA (histrelin implant) is a prescription medicine approved to treat early-onset puberty (known medically as central precocious puberty) in children. This medication does not cause interactions with most other drugs. However, it may potentially interact with medicines used in the treatment of diabetes, including:
 
  • Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, such as:
