PROVENGE Drug Interactions

Combining corticosteroids, azathioprine, and other immunosuppressants with PROVENGE may cause drug interactions. Because PROVENGE works by stimulating the immune system, combining this drug with an immunosuppressant may decrease the effectiveness of PROVENGE. Before starting treatment, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medicine, vitamin, or supplement you are taking.

An Overview of Interactions With PROVENGE

PROVENGE® (sipuleucel-T) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with PROVENGE include but are not limited to:
 
  • Immunosuppressants, such as:
 
 
 
    • Corticosteroids, such as:
 
      • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
      • Cortisone
      • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
      • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
      • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
      • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
      • Prednisolone (Pediapred®)
      • Prednisone
      • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®)
