Treatment for
prostate cancer typically consists of either local or systemic therapy. Local therapy is aimed at treating the cancer directly in the prostate; examples include surgery and radiation therapy. Systemic therapy affects the whole body in an attempt to combat the cancer -- for example, hormone therapy. Some people combine these traditional treatments with alternative options, such as yoga, medication, and supplements.
