Nilandron Drug Interactions
Taking Nilandron with drugs that affect certain liver enzymes may cause negative interactions. Some of these reactions can increase the risk for side effects or decrease the effectiveness of Nilandron. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely if you are undergoing Nilandron treatment and are taking medications such as Prozac, Prilosec, or Dilantin.
An Overview of Interactions With Nilandron
Nilandron® (nilutamide) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with Nilandron include but are not limited to:- CYP 2C19 inducer medications, such as:
- CYP 2C19 inhibitor medications, such as:
- Abiraterone (Zytiga™)
- Armodafinil (Nuvigil®)
- Bortezomib (Velcade®)
- Cimetidine (Tagamet®)
- Delavirdine (Rescriptor®)
- Efavirenz (Sustiva®)
- Esomeprazole (Nexium®)
- Etravirine (Intelence®)
- Fluoxetine (Prozac®, Sarafem®, Selfemra™)
- Fluvoxamine (Luvox®, Luvox® CR)
- Gemfibrozil (Lopid®)
- Isoniazid
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
- Lansoprazole (Prevacid®, Prevacid® 24HR)
- Miconazole
- Modafinil (Provigil®)
- Nicardipine (Cardene®)
- Omeprazole (Prilosec®, Prilosec OTC®, Zegerid®, Zegerid OTC™)
- Pantoprazole (Protonix®)
- Rabeprazole (AcipHex®)
- Sertraline (Zoloft®)
- Ticlopidine (Ticlid®)
- Tranylcypromine (Parnate®).
