Prostate Cancer Home > Zitega

Were you looking for more information about Zytiga? Zitega is a common misspelling of Zytiga.
Available by prescription only, Zytiga™ (abiraterone acetate) is a medication approved for treating advanced prostate cancer that has not responded to other medical treatment and has spread to other areas of the body (metastasized).
Zytiga comes in tablet form and is taken once daily in combination with prednisone. Your dosage will depend on whether you have liver problems or develop liver problems during treatment. Although most people tolerate Zytiga well, side effects may occur and can include muscle aches, fluid retention (edema), and joint swelling.
(Click Zytiga for more information on what this medication is used for, how it works, and what your doctor needs to know before starting treatment with this drug. You can also click any of the links in the box to the right for specific information.)
