Prostate Cancer Home > Zoladex Uses

Can Children Use Zoladex?

Zoladex is not approved for use in children (usually defined as younger than 18 years old), as it has not been adequately studied in this age group. Talk with your child's healthcare provider about the particular benefits and risks of using Zoladex in children.

Is It Safe for Older Adults?

Zoladex is used in older adult men with prostate cancer. It is expected to be as safe and effective in older males as it is in younger males. This medication has not been studied in women older than age 65.

Off-Label Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this product for something other than the uses discussed in this article. This is known as an "off-label" use. Possible off-label uses for Zoladex include:
  • Relieving the symptoms of ovarian cancer
  • Treating uterine fibroids
  • Treating central precocious puberty in children.
