Let your healthcare provider know if you have diabetes, a family history of osteoporosis, or depression before using Vantas. Other precautions for safely using this medicine include warnings of potential drug interactions and allergic reactions. This drug can also cause other problems, such as problems with your pituitary gland, a decrease in bone density, and high blood sugar levels.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

Talk with your healthcare provider prior to receiving Vantas® (histrelin implant) if you have:
    • A family history of osteoporosis
    • Smoking
    • Alcohol use
