Prostate Cancer Home > Vantas Implant

The standard dosage of Vantas® (histrelin implant) is one implant surgically placed under the skin of the upper arm every 12 months. Each implant contains 50 mg of Vantas and provides a continuous release of 50 mcg per day for one year.
A healthcare provider will insert the implant as part of a minor surgical procedure. After numbing your arm, your healthcare provider will make a small incision (a cut), to allow the implant to be inserted under the skin. Once the implant is inserted, the incision will be closed with stitches and special surgical tape.
