Where to Inject Lupron Depot

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Lupron Depot® (leuprolide acetate depot) for the treatment of several hormone-related conditions, such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and precocious puberty. The injections are usually received in a healthcare facility every one to four months.

If you are giving the shots yourself, your healthcare provider will show how and where to inject Lupron Depot. The drug comes in the form of a powder that is mixed into a liquid and injected into a muscle (intramuscularly).
