Lupron Depot® (leuprolide acetate depot) is a prescription hormone medication approved to treat the following conditions:
- Advanced prostate cancer
- Endometriosis (a condition in which endometrial tissue grows in other areas of the body)
- Uterine fibroids (noncancerous tumors in the uterus)
- Central precocious puberty (puberty that occurs too soon) in children.
Lupron Depot comes in powder form, is mixed into a liquid, and is given via an intramuscular injection. In general, people receive an injection every one to four months; the exact dose will depend on various factors.
