The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved flutamide (Eulexin®) for the treatment of certain stages of prostate cancer. Although many medications are available in a tablet, flutamide is only available in capsule form. These capsules are taken three times daily, with eight hours between doses (if you have trouble swallowing the capsules, you can open them and mix the contents with applesauce or something similar). Be sure to take this medication consistently and at the same times each day -- this will help keep an even amount in your bloodstream.
