Flutamide and Women
Flutamide (Eulexin®) is a drug used to treat prostate cancer. This is a condition that only affects men -- typically older men -- and women normally don't take flutamide. In fact, the medication is only approved for use in men. However, this does not mean that flutamide can't be given to a woman. It can be prescribed off-label to treat hirsutism, a condition that causes excessive hair growth.
