Drug Interactions With Fentanyl Nasal Spray

Taking certain drugs with fentanyl nasal spray may result in dangerous interactions. Some of these reactions can increase your risk for side effects, such as difficulty breathing, memory loss, and extreme drowsiness. Grapefruit juice, alcohol, and anxiety medications are among the products that can lead to potentially serious complications when combined with fentanyl nasal spray.

An Overview of Fentanyl Nasal Spray Interactions

Fentanyl nasal spray (Lazanda®) may interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to reactions with fentanyl nasal spray include but are not limited to:
 
  • Alcohol
  • CYP 3A4 inducer medications, such as:
 
 
  • CYP 3A4 inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
  • Grapefruit juice
  • Medications that cause drowsiness, such as:
 
 
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as:
 
 
  • Nasal decongestants, such as:
