Emcyt® (estramustine phosphate) is a chemotherapy medicine prescribed for the treatment of prostate cancer in men age 18 and older. Although it is not a cure for this disease, the drug may help relieve symptoms.
 
Emcyt comes in capsule form and is taken three or four times daily on an empty stomach. Nausea, diarrhea, and breast enlargement are among the possible side effects.
