Eligard vs Lupron
Eligard® (leuprolide acetate) is prescribed to treat the symptoms of advanced prostate cancer. This drug is given by an injection just beneath the skin every one, three, four, or six months.
When comparing Eligard vs Lupron® (leuprolide acetate), the two medications contain the same active ingredient, and both are approved for use in advanced prostate cancer. In addition, both medicines are given via subcutaneous injection.
One of the main differences between Lupron and Eligard is how often they are given. Lupron is given once a day; Eligard every one, three, four, or six months.
