Can Children Use It?

Eligard is not approved for use in children. Other forms of leuprolide (the active ingredient in Eligard) are approved for use in children who have central precocious puberty (puberty that occurs too early). These other medications -- Lupron® (leuprolide acetate) and Lupron Depot® (leuprolide acetate depot) -- contain amounts of leuprolide that may be more appropriate for children.
 

Can Older Adults Use It?

This medication has been well studied in older adults, and is primarily used in older men with prostate cancer. The majority of men in clinical trials were age 70 and older, and much of the information on the safety and effectiveness of Eligard is based on its use in older adults.
 

Off-Label Uses for Eligard
